Ingredients
4 items- 2 cups grape skins (red grapes preferred for deeper colour)
- 300 ml water
- 1 tbsp vinegar (fixative)
- Optional: salt (for colour intensity)
Method
6 steps- 1 Collect grape skins — Use fresh pomace from winemaking or leftover grapes.
- 2 Simmer skins — Place skins in water and simmer for 30 minutes.
- 3 Add vinegar — Helps fix colour to fabric or paper.
- 4 Strain — Remove skins and keep the coloured liquid.
- 5 Soak material — Submerge fabric or paper for several hours.
- 6 Dry naturally — Allow colour to set.
